Today, third-party analyst firm Aurora gave its ranking of China's smartphone market sales in the first quarter of 2020. The data shows that Huawei's mobile phone sales expanded further to 36.9 per cent, taking the number one spot. vivo rebounded with its 5G phones to rank second, followed by OPPO and Apple.
Aurora Big Data said that the impact of the epidemic led to the temporary closure of mobile phone sales shops, the disruption of offline sales channels, the delay in the resumption of supply chain, the tension in the production of components and mobile phones, and the reduced desire of consumers to purchase machines in isolation at home or postpone their purchase plans, and the impact of the epidemic made Q1 domestic mobile phone sales more difficult.
And in such an environment, Huawei's mobile phone sales share further expanded to 36.9% in Q1 2020. vivo's mobile phone sales share rose slightly to 24.8%, ranking second. The next three were OPPO, Xiaomi and Apple.
Huawei continued its relatively good growth momentum in the country in Q1, with the expansion of its brand influence helping them to stand out in terms of domestic mobile phone market share. Vivo, on the other hand, has been implementing a full product 5G strategy since last year. In Q1 2020, they released a number of 5G phones, including iQOO Pro5G, Vivo X30, Vivo NEX3, iQOO Neo3 and S6, covering the mid-to-high end market, and their early layout has rewarded them with an excellent sales share in the smartphone market in Q1 2020 .
It is understood that Huawei and Vivo ate nine of the seats on the sales list of 5G phones respectively.
In terms of broader trends, the sales share of 5G phones increased further, jumping from 2.9% in the fourth quarter of last year to 7.7%, which is inextricably linked to the fact that mobile phone manufacturers are starting to spare no effort in launching new 5G phones. It is already an industry consensus that 5G handsets will only account for a larger share of sales in the future.
